Challenge
Yellow Jacket nest in the exterior rock siding of the home and the yellow jackets were getting inside. The homeowner wanted the yellow jackets gone because yellow jackets are highly aggressive.
Solution
I had sent a pest control technician out twice. The first visit he treated the exterior nest entry point with liquid and dust, this action reduced the population significantly, however the homeowner was still seeing the yellow jackets getting inside. So, I sent him back out a few days later to find out how the yellow jackets were getting inside. He couldn’t find an access point. So, I went out to find out how the yellow jackets were getting inside the home. The homeowner showed me the window that she was seeing the yellow jackets. The first thing I did was to lay down on the floor and look underneath the window molding. It was there where I found the hole the yellow jackets were gaining entry. In fact you could see where the sheetrock was weakened because the yellow jackets were chewing away the sheetrock to make nesting material. I showed the homeowner and treated the hole and filled it with copper material temporarily until the wall could be repaired. The homeowner said she was going to have the room painted and she would get the painter to repair the sheetrock. I made a follow up phone call a few days later, the husband answered the call and stated they no longer had any problems.
